Stop Starting Over: A Better Way to Approach Nutrition

(Week 3 of The 5 Pillars of Health)

So far, we’ve covered movement and sleep—two pillars that set the foundation for how you feel day to day. Now we step into nutrition, where things tend to get… complicated. Not because it has to be, but because there’s no shortage of conflicting advice, quick fixes, and “start fresh Monday” plans that last about as long as your willpower holds out.

The truth is, nutrition doesn’t fail because people don’t care—it fails because people try to do too much, too fast. Cutting everything out, overhauling every habit, and expecting perfection right out of the gate is a guaranteed way to end up right back where you started. Not because you lack discipline, but because the approach was never built to last.

What actually works is much simpler—and a lot less exciting. Small, repeatable habits that fit into your real life. Eating enough protein to support your body. Drinking more water. Sitting down for meals instead of grabbing whatever’s convenient in the moment. These aren’t dramatic changes, but they’re the kind that stick. And when they stack over time, they create real progress without the constant reset.

If you’re not sure where to begin, pick one or two habits and focus there. Not ten. Not “everything.” Just a couple you can realistically follow through on. And if you’ve been spinning your wheels trying to figure it out alone, it might be time to stop guessing. Having guidance, accountability, and a plan built around you can make the difference between starting over again… and finally moving forward.

Next week, we’ll shift into something that might surprise you in its impact—social connection. Because it turns out, who you surround yourself with plays a bigger role than most people expect.
